LYRICS
The cit y streets are emp ty now,
(the lights don’t shine no more,) till dawn,) and so the songs are way down low,
(turn ing, (B)turn ing, turn ing.)
A sound that flows in to my mind, (the ech oes of the day light,) go,) of ev ’ry thing that is a live,
(in (B)my
blue (E)world.)
I (C#m)turn to stone,
when (G#m)you are gone, I turn to stone.
(C#m)Turn to stone, when you com in’ home, I can’t go on.
The dy ing em bers of the night,
(a fire that slow ly fades till dawn,) still glow up on the wall so bright,
(burn ing, (B)burn ing, burn ing.)
The tired I streets that hide a way,
(from here to ev ’ry where they stone,) roll past my door in to the day,
(in (B)my
blue
(E)world.)
I (C#m)turn to stone,
when (G#m)you are gone,
I turn to stone.
(C#m)Turn to stone, when you com in’ home,
I can’t go on.
(C#m)Turn to stone,
when (G#m)you are gone,
I turn to stone.
Yes, I’m (C)turn in’ to (CN.C.)stone ’cos you ain’t com in’ home, why ain’t (F)you (CN.C.)com in’ home if I’m turn in’ to stone, you’ve been (D)gone (CN.C.)for so long and I can’t car ry on, yes, I’m (F)turn (CN.C.)in’, I’m turn in’, I’m turn in’ to stone.
